Limavady 1661, and of the council of the government of Munster, and Had considerable grants of lands in co. Cork, and was created a Baronet of Ireland 1 Aug. 1665, and subsequently obtained letters patent by which the lands of Cariglemleary, &c. were erected into a manor named Gethinsgrott. His great- great-grandson, SIR RICHARD GETHIN, 4th Baronet (on the death of his father. Sir Richard), m. Margaret, dau. of Col. Eames, and had 2 sons, (1) Sir Richard, 5th Baronet, m. 15 Aug. 1750, Hon. Mary Lawrance, eldest dau. of William, 26th Baron Howth ; she d. 4 Oct. 1787, ha^•ing had an only son, Sir Percy, s. as 6th Baronet. (2) John, of Ballymoat, co. Sligo, m.
