Cromarty temp. William and Ankb, &c. &c.; d. 1728/9, having had 4 sons, who all d. s. p. /3/ Hon. Sir James, Lord Roystou of Session and justiciary on the resignation of his micle, Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall 7 June, 1710, lord of justiciary 27 July following, created a Baronet op Nova Scotia 8 Feb. 1704, with re- mainder to his heirs male; d. 9 Nov. 1744, aged 73, leaving 2 daus. [2] Kenneth, of Scatwell, co. Ross (sais. 1619), also of parish of AUangrange 1636; d. at Lochluichart 3 Mar. 1662; bur. at Dingwall, with much honour, having m. 1st (contract dated 1634, dower 15,000 marks), Margaret, eldest dau. and coheir of Sir Robert Munro, of Foulis, commonly called "the black baron," and had a son and 3 daus. He m. 2ndly, Janet, eldest dau. of Walter Ross, of Invercharron (by Christian his wife, dau. of Andrew Munro, of Milnton), by whom he had with 2 daus. 4 sons, of whom the youngest, viz. — SIR KENNETH MACKENZIE, of Scatwell, built Findon House, said to have been created a Baronet of Nova Scotia 22 Feb. 1702/3 (patent not recorded and nothing seems to be known of the creation), M.P. Ross-shire 1702/7, and not styled a Baronet; d. 1730, having m. 1st, Lilias, eldest dau. and heir of Sir Roderick Mackenzie, of Findon; she d. 21 Oct. 1703. He m. 2ndly, Christian, eldest dau. of Roderick Mackenzie, minister and laird of Avoch ; she d. s. p. He m. 3rilly (con- tract 1707), Abigail, dau. of John Urquhart, of Newhall, by whom he had a son and 2 daus.
