To hunt the lazy-footed Bear
Around the pole and back again;
Scourge him tightly, scourge him faster,
Let the savage know his master!
And, to close the mighty feat,
Light thy lamp of brave conceit
With some grim, red-bearded star,
(Sign of Famine, Fire, and War,)
And hang it on the young moon's horn
To show how poet thought is born.
