Briggs had the good fortune, a few years ago, to discover in London the manuscript of Dury's "Summarie Relation" of this journey, with its vivid description of Europe during the Thirty Years' War, and published it in the Presbyterian Review for April, 1887, together with a short account of the author's noble work for Christian union.
