chemist has recently treated a small piece of the leather roll with a celluloid solution and found that it became pliable while all previous tendency to crumbling disappeared. It is expected that the whole roll will be similarly treated within a very short time.
I am indebted to Professor Griffith for the expression of an opinion that the roll is of about the same age as the Rhind papyrus. No previous description of this roll seems to have been published, although Doctor Budge reported its existence to Professor Eisenlohr who made public a note of the fact.
