LITTLE FANCIES

Little Fancies come and go,
Like the little shades ;
Little Fancies come and go,
Like the charming maids ;
Come and go, go and come.
Like the peeping star;
Little Fancies come and hum
In our ears, and secrets some
Stealthily unbar.

Little Fancies, where ye live ?—
In the wildernesses
Of the skies, where rainbows weave
In the maiden’s tresses
Golden rays of love and light;
In the fleecy clouds,
Whereon shine the colours bright,
And their sunlit fleeting might
Charms the wondering crowds.
