four or five days to refreſh our army, and during the time, the Coolays were employed to clear and level the rugged narrow road, from Bohogolpore through Skilligurree. Before we ſet out, we perceived that Captain Brook, a very active Officer, at the head of five companies of Seapoys, ſtationed in the different parts of the neighbouring country, had been, ſome time, engaged in the purſuit of the Pahareas, a ſavage clan that inhabit the mountains between Bohogolpore and Rajamoul, and annoy the peaceable reſident and unwary traveller: numbers, happily! were taken, through the indefatigable zeal of the above Gentleman, and juſtly received, exemplary puniſhment:
