The Cooleys were divided into two diſtinct bodies for different purpoſes; to carry burthens, and to open and clear the roads through the country, for the free paſſage of the army and baggage: The Beſties were appointed to ſupply the men and cattle with water: and the Charwalleys, who are the meaneſt claſs of all, were employed to clean the apartments, and do other ſervile offices.
