Here haue I sette the lesser side as the numerator, and the greater side as the denominator. Whereby you maie perceiue the cause of their distinction.
Fore the first order is, when the lesser side, or nomber, is odde.
The seconde order is, when that lesser side is an euen nomber.
Stifelius doeth set them so, that the numerator standeth for the seconde, or greater side: the denominator for thr firste nomber, or lesser side. And for the more delectable contemplation, to behold their forme of progression, he setteth doune as many whole nomber, as the fraction will giue.
