In some the solar values are low, while the spirit values are high. In others the law is reversed. But the strangest peculiarity of all is, that some of the cards have minus spirits or what is called "double astrals," while there are persons to correspond.
It is not generally known that there are, here and there, persons who actually have a double inner self or astral and that one is positive, the other negative. I hesitate to put forth such facts without going into details which support the claim, but I will be obliged to only give the mathematical side of the questiqn in this work, or the relations of the tarot to man.
RULE FOR FINDING THE NEGATIVE SPIRIT OF A CARD.
"Subtract the positive spirit of the card from the number eighty-nine, and give the remainder the minus sign."

As a matter of fact every card has a negative astral, and I am even inclined to believe that each and every human being has a negative spirit that comes uppermost under certain conditions, but the negatives of nearly all the cards do not appear to assert themselves only under very extraordinary circumstances.
In the same manner, the negative spirit of human beings generally keeps back, except in the case of some certain ones who appear, at least from a mathematical standpoint, to act under the negative astral nearly all the time. I
