hiding them in anagrams. But on the other hand, Reymers certainly was an original thinker, and he may quite independently have come to the same idea which Tycho had already conceived. But the whole question is not of much consequence, and we have merely dwelt so long on it because it attracted a good deal of attention at the time, and because the steps which Tycho afterwards took against Reymers throw considerable light on his own character.

Having spent the winter 1598–99 at Wittenberg, where his family had joined him, Tycho was further delayed by the illness of his eldest daughter; but shortly after Easter he at last set out for Prague, letting his family, however, stop for a while half way, at Dresden, until he had himself seen the state of things at Prague.
