Joint Resolution Dec 2S 1987 ' [H.J. Res. 376]

'^° designate the Clarks Hill Dam, Reservoir, and Highway trahsversing the Dam on the Savannah River, Georgia and South Carolina, as the J. Strom Thurmond Dam, Reservoir, and Highway.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That in honor of J. Strom Thurmond, and in recognition of his long and outstanding service as a United States Senator, Governor of South Carolina, and South Carolina State Senator, to promote flood control, soil conservation, and rural electrification, the Clarks Hill Dam, Reservoir, and Highway transversing the Dam on the Savannah River, Georgia and South Carolina, shall hereafter be known and designated as the J. Strom Thurmond Dam, Reservoir, and Highway, and shall be dedicated as a monument to his distinguished public service. Any law, regulation, map, document, or record of the United States in which such project is referred to shall be held and considered to refer to such project by the name of the J. Strom Thurmond Dam, Reservoir, and Highway, Approved December 23, 1987.
