To amend the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978 to remove certain contract duration and right of first refusal requirements.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. CONTRACT DURATION.

Section 315(a) of the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978 (15 U.S.C. 3375(a)) is amended by striking the last sentence of paragraph (1) and by striking paragraph (3). SEC. 2. OFFERS; RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL.

(a) AMENDMENT.—Section 315(b) of such Act (15 U.S.C. 3375(b)) is repealed, and subsection (c) of such section is redesignated as subsection (b). (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—(1) The title of such section 315 is amended by striking "RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL;". (2) The item relating to section 315 in the table of contents in section 1(b) of such Act is amended by striking "right of first refusal;". Approved September 22, 1988.
