PUBLIC LAW 102-25—APR. 6, 1991 105 STAT. 89 (2) by striking out "or" after "Korean conflict," the second place it appears; and (3) by inserting "or before the end of the two-year period beginning on the last day of the Persian Gulf War, in the case of a veteran of the Persian Gulf War," after "Vietnam era veteran,". (c) COVERAGE OF CERTAIN PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFITS.— Section 612(h) of such title is amended in the first sentence by striking out "the Mexican border period" and all that follows through "Vietnam era" and inserting in lieu thereof "a period of war". (d) READJUSTMENT COUNSELING. —Section 612A(a) of such title is amended— (1) by inserting "(1)" after "(a)"; and (2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: "(2)(A) The Secretary shall furnish counseling as described in paragraph (1), upon request, to any veteran who served on active duty after May 7, 1975, in an area at a time during which hostilities occurred in such area. "(B) For the purposes of subparagraph (A) of this paragraph, the term 'hostilities' means an armed conflict in which members of the Armed Forces are subjected to danger comparable to the danger to which members of the Armed Forces have been subjected in combat with enemy armed forces during a period of war, as determined by the Secretary in consultation with the Secretary of Defense.". SEC. 335. REPORTS BY SECRETARY OF DEFENSE AND SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS CONCERNING SERVICES TO TREAT POST- TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (a) IN GENERAL. —The Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall each submit to Congress two reports containing, with respect to their respective Departments, the following: (1) An assessment of the need for rehabilitative services for members of the Armed Forces participating in the Operation Desert Storm who experience post-traumatic stress disorder. (2) A description of the available programs and resources to meet those needs. (3) The specific plans of that Secretary for treatment of members experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder, particularly with respect to any specific needs of members of reserve components. (4) An assessment of needs for additional resources necessary in order to carry out such plans. (5) A description of plans to coordinate treatment services for post-traumatic stress disorder with the other Department. (b) TIMES FOR SUBMISSION OF REPORTS.—The first report by each of the Secretaries shall be submitted not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and the second report by each of the Secretaries shall be submitted a year later. SEC. 336. LIFE INSURANCE BENEFITS (a) SERVICEMEN'S GROUP LIFE INSURANCE.— Section 767 of title 38, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsections (a) and (c), by striking out "$50,000" each place it appears and inserting in lieu thereof "$100,000"; and (2) in subsection (d)— ^ (A) by striking out "January 1, 1986" each place it appears and inserting in lieu thereof "May 1, 1991"; and
