"(ii) The budget authority available under section 5(c) for assistance under this section is authorized to be increased by $15,000,000 on or after October 1, 1992, and by $15,000,000 on or after October 1, 1993. Amounts made avsdlable under this subparagraph shall be used to provide additional sunounts under annual contributions contracts for assistance under this section which shall be made available through assistance contracts ovly for the purpose of providing service coordinators under clause (i) for projects receiving project-based assistance under this paragraph ana to provide additional amounts under contracts for assistance for projects constructed or substantiallv rehabilitated pursuant to assistance provided under section 8(b)(2) of this Act (as such section existed immediately before October 1, 1983) only for such purpose.". SEC. 67S. COSTS OF PROVIDING SERVICE COORDINATORS FOR FAMI- LIES RECEIVING FEDERAL TENANT-BASED ASSISTANCE. Section 8(q) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437fi:q)) is amended— (1) by redesi^ating paragraph (3) as paragraph (4); and (2) by inserting after paragraph (2) the following new paragraph: (3)(A) Fees under this subsection may be used for the costs of employing or otherwise retaining the services of one or more service coormnators under section 661 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992 to coordinate the provision of supportive services for elderly families and disabled families on wnose behalf tenant-based assistance is provided under this section or section 811(b)(l)- Such service coordinators shall have the same responsibilities with respect to such families as service coordinators of covered federally assisted housing projects have under section 661 of such Act with respect to residents of such projects. "(B) To the extent amounts are provided in appropriation Acts under subparagraph (C), the Secretary shall increase fees under this subsection to provide for the costs of such service coordinators for public housing agencies. "(C) The budget authority available under section 5(c) for assistance under this section is authorized to be increased by $5,000,000 on or after October 1, 1992, and by $5,000,000 on or after October 1, 1993. Amounts made available under this subparagraph shall be used to provide additional amounts under annual contributions contracts for increased fees under this subsection, which shall be used only for the purpose of providing service coordinators for public housing agencies described m subparagraph (A).". 42 USC 13632. SEC. 676. GRANTS FOR COSTS OF PROVIDING SERVICE COORDINA- TORS IN MULTIFAMILY HOUSING ASSISTED UNDER NATIONAL HOUSING ACT. (a) AUTHORITY.—The Secretary may make grants under this section to owners of federally assisted housing projects described in subparagraphs (E) and (F) of section 683(2). Any grant amounts shall be used for the costs of employing or otherwise retaining the services of one or more service coordinators under section 661 to coordinate the provision of any services within the project for residents of the project who are elderly families and disabled families (as such terms are defined in section 683 of this Act).
