SEC. 102. EXTENSION OF CEILING RENTS. (a) REMOVAL OF 5-YEAR LIMIT.—Section 3(a)(2)(A) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(a)(2)(A)) is amended by striking "for not more than a 5-year period". (b) EXTENSION OF PREVIOUS CEILING RENTS.— Section 3(a)(2)(B) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(a)(2)(B)) is amended— (1) by striking the first sentence; and (2) in the last sentence, by striking "for the 5-year period beginning on such date of enactment" and inserting "without time limitation". SEC. 103. DEFINITIONS OF INCOME AND ADJUSTED INCOME AND APPLICABILITYIX) INDIAN HOUSING PROGRAMS. (a) IN GENERAL. — (1) INCOME.—Section 3(b)(4) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)(4)) is amended by inserting after "familv" the following: "and any amounts which would be eligible for exclusion under section 1613(a)(7) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1382b(a)(7))". (2) ADJUSTED INCOME. —Section 3(b)(5) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)(5)) is amended— (A) by striking subparagraph (D) and inserting the following new subparagraph: "(D) child care expenses to the extent necessary to enable another member of the family to be employed or to further his or her education;"; (B) by striking "and" at the end of subparagraph (E); (C) by striking the period at the end of^ subparagraph (F) and inserting "; and"; and (D) by inserting after subparagraph (F) the following new subparagraph: "(G) excessive travel expenses, not to exceed $25 per family per week, for empro3rment- or education-related travel, except that this subparagraph shall apply only to families assisted by Indian housing authorities..
