And whereas the said treaty having been submitted to the Senate of the United States for its constitutional action thereon, the Senate did, on the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty- five, advise and consent to the ratification of the same, by a resolution in the words and figures following, to wit: IN EXECUTIVE SESSION, SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES, February 28, 1855. “tg¤¤¤¤¤t¤f 5***** Resolved, (two thirds of the Senators present concurring,) That the `Senate advise and consent to the ratification of the article of agreement and convention made and concluded at Nebraska City, in the Territory of Nebraska, on the ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four, between the United States of America, by George Hepner, United States Indian agent, duly authorized thereto, and the chiefs and lieadmen of the confederate tribes of the Ottoe and Missouria Indians, to be taken- and considered as a supplement to the treaty made between the United States and said confederate tribes, on the fifteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four. Now, therefore, be it known, that I, FRANKLIN PIERCE, President of the United States of America, do, in pursuance of the advice and consent of the Senate, as expressed in their resolution of the twenty- eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, accept, ratify, and condrm the said treaty. In testimony whereof, I have caused the seal of the United States to be hereto affixed, having signed the same with my hand. Done at the city of Washington, this tenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, [L. s.] and of the independence of the United States the seventy- ninth.
