Subtitle A—Officer Personnel Policy
SEC. 501. GRADE OF CfflEF OF NAVAL RESEARCH.
(a) REAR ADMIRAL (UPPER HALF).— Section 5022(a) of title 10,
United States Code, is amended—
(1) by inserting "(1)" after "(a)"; and
(2) by adding at the end the following:
"(2) Unless appointed to higher grade under another provision
of law, an officer, while serving in the Office of Naval Research
as Chief of Naval Research, has the rank of rear admiral (upper
half).".
