PUBLIC LAW 105-85—NOV. 18, 1997 111 STAT. 2009 (d) INTERIM LEASE.— (1) Until such time as the real property described in subsection (a) is conveyed by deed, the Secretary may lease the property, together with improvements thereon, to the County. (2) As consideration for the lease under this subsection, the County shall provide such security services and fire protection services for the property covered by the lease, and carry out such maintenance work with respect to the property, as the Secretary shall specify in the lease. (e) DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY.—The exact acreage and legal description of the real property to be conveyed under subsection (a) shall be determined by a survey satisfactory to the Secretary. The cost of the survey shall be borne by the County. (f) ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS.— The Secretary may require such additional terms and conditions in connection with the conveyance under subsection (a), and the lease, if any, under subsection (d), as the Secretary considers appropriate to protect the interests of the United States. SEC. 2853. CORRECTION OF LEASE AUTHORITY, NAVAL AIR STATION, MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI. (a) CORRECTION OF LESSEE. —Subsection (a) of section 2837 of the Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1997 (division B of Public Law 104-201; 110 Stat. 2798) is amended— (1) by striking out "State of Mississippi (in this section referred to as the 'State')" and inserting in lieu thereof "County of Lauderdale, Mississippi (in this section referred to as the 'County)"; and (2) by striking out "The State" and inserting in lieu thereof "The County". (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—Subsections (b) and (c) of such section are amended by striking out "State" each place it appears and inserting in lieu thereof "County". PART III—AIR FORCE CONVEYANCES SEC. 2861. LAND TRANSFER, EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, FLORIDA. (a) TRANSFER.— The real property withdrawn by Executive Order 4525, dated October 1, 1826, which consists of approximately 440 acres of land at Cape San Bias, Gulf County, Florida, and any improvements thereon, is transferred from the administrative jurisdiction of the Secretary of Transportation to the administrative jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Air Force, without reimbursement. Executive Order 4525 is revoked, and the transferred real property shall be administered by the Secretary of the Air Force pursuant to the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C. 471 et seq.) and such other laws as may be applicable to Federal real property. (b) USE OF PROPERTY.— The real property transferred under subsection (a) may be used in conjunction with operations at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. (c) LEGAL DESCRIPTION.— The exact acreage and legal description of the real property to be transferred under subsection (a) shall be determined by a survey satisfactory to the Secretary of the Air Force.
