T he report shall be unclassified but ma y contain a classified anne x . (2) O NE OR M ORE REPORT S .—In complying w ith the re q uire- ments of this section, the Comptroller General may submit a single report addressing all the elements specified in sub- section (b) or two or more reports addressing any combination of such elements. (b) E LEMENTS.—The elements specified in this subsection are the following
(1) An analysis of the readiness status, as of the date of the enactment of this Act, of the regular and reserve compo- nents of the Army and the M arine Corps, including any signifi- cant changes in any trends with respect to such components since 2001. (2) An analysis of the readiness status, as of such date, of the regular and reserve components of the Air Force and the Navy, including a description of any ma j or factors that affect the ability of the Navy or Air Force to provide trained and ready forces for ongoing operations and to meet overall readiness goals. ( 3 ) An analysis of the efforts of the Secretary of each military department to address any major factors affecting the readiness of the regular and reserve components under the jurisdiction of that Secretary. SEC. 34 2 . REPORT ON PLAN TO EN H ANCE COM B ATS K ILLS OF NA VY AND AIR FORCE PERSONNEL. (a) REPORT REQUIRED.—At the same time as the budget for fiscal year 2010 is submitted to Congress under section 110 5 (a) of title 31, U nited States Code, the Secretary of D efense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives a report on— (1) the plans of the Secretary of the Navy to improve the combat s k ills of the members of the Navy
and (2) the plans of the Secretary of the Air Force to improve the combat skills of the members of the Air Force. (b) ELEMENTS O F REPORT.—The report required under sub- section (a) shall include each of the following: (1) The criteria that the Secretary of the Air Force and the Secretary of the Navy use to select permanent sites for their Common B attlefield Airmen Training and Expeditionary Combat Skills courses. (2) An identification of the extent to which the Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of the Air Force coordinated with each other and with the Secretary of the Army and the Com- mandant of the Marine Corps with respect to their plans to expand combat skills training for members of the Navy and
