But in no case shall the Elaces thus provided deemed to be a. part of the space allowable for the use of passengers, but the same shall be deducted therefrom; and in all cases where such lockers or Enclosed spaces are prepared or used, the upper surface thereof shall be deemed the deck or platform from which measurement shall be made for all the purposes of this chapter. One hospital, in the spaces appropriated to passengers, and separate therefrom by an appropriste rtition, and furnishe as its purposes require, may be prepared, und, which used, may be included in the space allowable for assengers; but the same shall not occupy more than one hundred superflhiul feet of deck or platform. Sec. 4255. No such vessel shall have more than two tiers of berths. Bertha.
