Ihompson the pay and emoluments of a first lieutenant of infantryin active service from June sixth eighteen hundred and sixty-four to September nineteenth eighteen hundred and sixty-four; and they ` are also authorized and directed to pay him the pay and emoluments of a captain of infantry in active service from September nineteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four to March first eighteen hundred and sixty- five, from which date his muster as an officer commences.
