Craw- 1875, ch.178, ford, and to fix the rank-and pay of retired officers of the Ar1ny,” ap- 18 S*·¤¤·»512· proved March third, eighteen hundred and seventy-five, solely because the injuries received by him in battle are more severe, dangerous, and disabling, and more fully incapacitate and disqualify him for any service, than the loss of an arm or leg, or the permanent disability of an arm or leg by resection, and is hereby restored upon the list of retired officers of the Army to the 11111 rank of lieutenant-colonel, held by him from the date of his retirement up to March third eighteen hundred and seventy-ive, with the pay of such rank from the date of the passage of this act, and shall hereafter hold and receive the rank and pay of lieutenantcolonel upon the list of retired officers of the Army.
