CHAP. 60.-An act authorizing the Secretary of the Treasury to deliver to the Apr. 22, 18S1s. rightful owners the contents of certain boxes deposited in the Treasury Department ————— by the Secretary of War. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Boxes, &c.. dc- Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to deliver, under P°s‘*gd g1 T'°¤¤· such rules and regulations as he may prescribe, to the proper claimants géywji. t:°{:°";’3 or owners, any silverware, jewelry, portraits, watches, cr other articles turned m mmm. deposited in June, eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, in the Treasury of the United States by the Secretary of War, as property captured by the United States Army during the late war, and now in the possession of the United States Treasury; and also any property of like character received at the Treasury Department from General Ketchum under instructxions from the Secretary of the Treasury: Provided, That in all Pfwmcases proof satisfactory to, the Secretary of the Treasury be made by shF'°°f °f °‘“‘°" the said claimants of the ownership and identification of the said silver- P ware, jewelry, portraits, watches, or other articles.
