Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the §*°m“& '*`*>'*°'· United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary www O` of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay Thomas J. Taylor, out of moneys not otherwise appropriated, the sum of eight hundred and sixty-one dollars, as compensation for services rendered by said Thomas J. Taylor as a scout during the late war of the rebellion, all of said services having been rendered under written instructions of the commanders of the Federal Army commanding the Department of the Tennessee. Approved, June 4, 1888. June 4, 1888. CHAP. 360.-An act granting a pension to Abial G. Chamberlain. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Abial G- ¤¤¤m*>•=*· United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary Imiiémaouaucmnw. of the Interior be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions of the pension laws, the name Abial G. Chamberlain, ate Company K, First Massachusetts Volunteers, and pay him a pension at the rate of forty-five dollars per month, in lieu of the pension now received by him. Approved, June 4, 1888. June 6, 18iB. CHAP. 366.-For the relief of S. H. Pearce. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the g-H-§:3g¢· United States of America in Congress assembled, That the sum of mueighty dollars be paid to S. H. Pearce, of Columbia County, Arkansas, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for excess of purchase·money paid by him for certain ands in said county. Approved, June 6, 1888. Osborn United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary ”“‘°“ °‘ of the Treasury_ be, and is hereby. directed to pay to Thomas A. Osborn, late United States marshal for the district of Kansas, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of eight thousand seven hundred and one dollars and ninety-six cents, on account of the loss of that amount of public funds by the failure of the banking-house of E. H. Gruber and Com any, on the sixth day of October, eighteen hundred and sixty-six, thie loss being without neglect or fault on the part of said Thomas A. Osborn. Approved, June 6, 1888. Re it enacted by the_Senate and House of Representatives of the ggogggpkhar 8 United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary t0_ g of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to remove from . the recordof John Powers, late a member of Elgin Battery, Illinois Light Artillery, any charge of desertion that may exist against him as a member of said Elgin Battery and issue to him an honorable discharge, as of date November nineteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-two.
