United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary M"’"°' °°"°°t°°‘ of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause an office-muster to be made in the case of Andrew R. G. Smith, late hospital steward of the Second Regiment of Maine Cavalry Volunteers, so that said Andrew R. G. Smith shall thereb rank as assistant surgeon of said regiment from the first day of Tecember, eighteen hundred and sixty-tive, the date of the issuing of his commission by the governor of the State of Maine, he having performed the duties of assistant surgeon from said first day of December, eighteen hundred _ and sixty-five, until the sixth day of December, eighteen hundred p»·m»w,. and sixty-five, the date of the muster out of said regiment ; Provided, my- That said Smith shall receive no additional pay on account of said remuster.
