Keller, late licensed Indian trader with the Pottawatomie Indians in Kansas, for supplies furnished said Indian band for their subsistence, and to determine the amount thereof justly due said Silas P. Keller, and whether there is any fu11d belonging to said Indians which can be applied to the payment of such claim, and, if so determined, then to report and certify the amount found due to said Silas P. Keller, without interest, to be paid from the funds of said ' Indians to the Secretary of the Treasury, to be so paid by him. Received by the President, February 5, 1897. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United }‘;;hg]‘;’{j0‘l°“· States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the ` Treasury be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two hundred and four dollars and thirty cents, to H. C. Herndon, of Cattlettsburg, Kentucky, for the loss of a registered package containing said sum which he placed in the post-office at WVebbville, Kentucky, as deputy collector of internal revenue, on November twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, addressed to Thomas C. McDowell, co lector for seventh internal-revenue district of Kentucky, and which sum was stolen from said post-office on the night of the twenty-fourth of November, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, and the said Herndon was compelled to pay the said collector the said sum.
