Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United f,·]*V¤£“· States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the °m°° Treasury be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to R. E. Vaughan the sum of twenty-three dollars, for services rendered to the Government in the case of the United States against Peter S. Morrison in the United States court for the western district of Missouri. ' Approved, January 28, 1899. January 28, 1899. CHAP. 71.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to James W. Jackson. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United James w..n¤n¤¤. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the P°“°*°“ *”°’°“°°"· Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place the name of James W. Jackson, late of Company G, First United States Cavalry, on the pension roll and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of the pension he now receives. Smith, Company D, First Delaware Infantry Volunteers, an honorable discharge. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United I·cwisC.L.Sr¤lth. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War QQ? "°"°”"’° is hereby authorized and directed to remove the charge of desertion standing against Lewis C. L. Smith, late of Company D, First Delaware Infantry Volunteers, and to cause an honorable discharge to be issued to said Lewis C. L. Smith, of Dover, Delaware, as of date of » J anuary sixteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-five. mm. Sec. 2. Cranston, wife of William H. Cranston, of said District, prior to the passage of this Act, be relieved and exempted from the operation - V¤1·2M>-4’*¤- of an Act entitled “An Act to restrict the owner ship of real estate in the Territoriesto American citizens," approved March third, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven; and all forfeitures incurred by force of said Act are, in respect of such real estate, hereby remitted.
