Cns. 156-158. 1900. 59 CHAP. 1 56 .-—An Act Approving a revision and adjustment of certain sales of Otoe April 4.1900. and Missouria lands in the States or Nebraska and Kansas.”‘— Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America im Congress assembled, That the ievision and adjust- Owe and Missouria ment of the sales of lands in the late reservation of the confederated i§],$§,{Lj’1`°b'“sk“““d Otoe and Missouria tribes of Indians in the States of Nebraska and §gl;,§}6I§·§,*;8·Sa1e of Kansas, to which more than three-fourths of the adult male members land in reset-mica os, of said tribes have iven their consent, by an instrument in writing °°”Hm€d‘ dated the twentieth day of November, eighteen hundred and ninety- ‘ nine, and now on file in the office of the Secretary of the Interior, is hereby approved and confirmed, and the Secretary of the Interior is hereby directed to carry the-same into full force and effect as toall delinquent purchasers of said lands, their heirs and legal representa- _ tives, in the following manner, to wit: The Secretary of the Inte1*ior~?ma¤¤e¤ or e¤m¤·e- shall cause notice to be given to said purchasers, their heirs and legal §,‘{§c‘§‘§,,,'f,°,,,fi‘°’1‘?"*“"’“* representatives, res ectivel , of the amounts of the deferred payments found to be due andjun aidy on their respective purchases under the adjustment hereby contllmed; and within one year thereafter it shall be the duty of such purchasers, their heirs and representatives, respectively, to make fu l ayment in cash of the amounts thus found to be due by them, severally, and in default of such payment within said period of one year the entry of any purchaser so in default shall be forthwith canceled and the lands shall be `resold for the benefit of ‘ the Indians at not less than the appraised value thereof, and in no case at less than two dollars and fifty cents per acre, as provided in the Act V0]-21-9380- under which they were originally sold. Upon making such complete payment within the time so fixed each purchaser, his heirs or legal representatives, shall be entitled to receive a patent for the lands so purchased. Approved, April 4, 1900. CHAP. 157.—An Act To establish a military post at or near Des Moines, Iowa. Apri14,1900. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rqnresentatices of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That upon the transfer and M§{§;$[°i¤g§» gggg; conveyance to the United States of a good and sufficient title to not lished at. PO less than four hundred acres of land, without cost to the United States, _ situated at or near the city of Des Moines, in the county of Polk and State of Iowa, and on or near a railroad, and constituting an eligible and suitable site for an army post, and to be approved and acce ted by the Secretary of War for that puilpose, then and thereupon there shall be, and is hereby, established an located on said land a United States army post, of such character and capacity as the Secretary of War shall direct and approve."
