Be it enacted by the Senate and House o_fRepresentati1:es of the United {,‘},’Q,§,g,,€{f,‘;‘§;,,s€d_ States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension aws, the name of John J. Sears. late of Company C, First Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, in the war with Mexico, and who also served as captain Company K, Twelfth Regiment Kansas Volunteer Infantry, and as major of the Sixty-seventh Regiment United States Colored Infantry, and as lieutenant-colonel of the `ighteenth Regiment United States Colored Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-tive dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.
