Fullerton, widow of Hugh S. Fu lerton, late first lieutenant Company C, First Regiment Ohio· olunteer Heavy Artillpry, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per mont . Be it enacted by t/ae Senate and House of Rfgresentatekzes of the United ~{_¤;§;ig‘;¤r¤¤r- States of America in Congress assembled, at the Secretary of the ` Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension aws the name of Julia Traynor, widow of Lawrence Traynor, late of the Quartermastefs Department, United States Army, and pay her a pension at the rate of eight dollars per month. R¤>b¢¤b§r¤¤¤1S- Whereas Robert Smalls, on the thirteenth dag of May, eighteen I °` — hundred and sixty-two, did capture the steamer lanter, with all the armament and ammunition for Fort Ripliy, at the city of Charleston, takingl her out and turning her over to the ederal blockading squadron off C arleston; and again, on the iirst day of December, ejighteen hundred and §xty-three, while loaded with {provisions for the ederal troops on Morris Island, and while a terri c fire was opened on her from Secessionville (she being deserted by her captain, Nicholson, Smalls being on board as a pilotli did take charge of said steamer Planter and did brin her throng safe, for which act he was made captain by General A. Gillmore; Therefore, Be it enacted by the Senate and House of R$esentatv}ves of the United "¤>'m°¤* *0- States of America in Congress assembled, at the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay to Robert Smalls, or his heirs at law, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise ' appropriated, the sum of ive thousand dollars, deducting only the Vol.12.p.904. amount paid to said Smalls under the Act of May thirteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-two. ` Approved, June 5, 1900. June 5· 1900- CHAP. 741.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to William H. Wendell. _ _ Be it enacted by the Senate and House ofRr?presentatices of the United xix? States of America in Cbngress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of William H. Wendell, late captain and assistant quartermaster United States Volunteers, and pav him a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, June 5, 1900.
