Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re resentatives of the Obizted }§R_g*;*;t11-zi1j;<€g*§j_ States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of athe in-(1 it empioyees 0:. Treasury be authorized and directed to pay to the employees of `Wil— liam M. Jacobs who were employed between April tenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, and April nineteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, inclusive, in his cigar factory at Lancaster, Pennsylvania, such sums of money as may be respectively due them for their labor during such period, not exceeding twenty dollarsfor any employee and not exceeding two thousand seven hundred and five dollars for all. The said sums to be paid by the Secretary of the Treasury after- he shall be satisfied as to the identity of the various employees and the correctness of the respective amounts due them, and to be paid out of moneys in the Treasury received from the sale of cigars seized in the factory of said William M. Jacobs and forfeited for violation of the internal-revenue laws, and a sufficient sum is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Be it enacted by the Senate 0/nd House of Rrigresentatives of the United {gggigi D°’€m“S· States of America in Congress assembled, at the Secretary of the ` Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the ension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of John H. Doremus, late a second lieutenant of Company D, Second Regiment New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, war with pain, and pay him a pension at the rate of fifty dollars per month. Pierce, late of Company B, Twelfth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.
