WHEREAS, the Stanislaus Forest Reserve, in the State of Cali- R;f§}}§_§l§§§_F°'°”° fornia, was established by proclamation dated February twenty- $¤‘¤;¤¤;;g>1¢· 898 second, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven; and the bounda lines °' `p` ` thereof were subsequently changed and the area reduced by the Act V<>l- 33· P- 702- of Congress, approved February seventh, nineteen hundred and five, entitled, “An Act To exclude from the Yosemite National Park, California, certain lands therein described, and to attach and include the said lands in the Sierra Forest Reserve”; And whereas, it appears that the public good would be promoted by addin to the said Stanislaus Forest Reserve certain lands in the State of California which are in part covered with timber; ’ _ And whereas, it is provided by the Act of Congress, approved l°x‘3°’”‘3°‘ June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, entitled, ‘ An Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other purposes," that “The President is hereby authorized at any time to modify any Executive order that has been or may hereafter be made establishing any forest reserve, and by such modification may reduce the area or change the boundary lines of such reserve, or may vacate altogether any order creating Such reserve"; Boundaries en- Now, therefore, I, Theodore Roosevelt, President of the United mgm:.
