Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section seven of an Act ¤,g>¤°¤¤¤h¤1¤,;¥;,i*;¢¤- entitled “An Act to authorize the Fayette Bridge Company to con- ¤na§i$g?xni§»°°i·¤y¤t°€Z struct a bridge over the Monongahela River, Pennsylvania, from a “'“*° °°’”P‘”Y· point in the borou h of Brownsville, Fayette County, to apoint in the borough of Vligst Brownsville, Washington County]! a proved ‘ April twenty-third, nineteen hundred and six, be, and is giereby, v¤1. sa, gp. wo, amended to read as follows: 1"°· '“""’“° ‘ " Sec. 7. That this Act shall be null and void unless the construction me ¤*g>,¤Pl¤**°¤- of said bridge shall be commenced within one ear from April twenty- p' ' third, nineteen hundred and eight, and shalllbe completed by April twenty-third, nineteen hundred and eleven." CHAP. 71.-—An Act To amend an Act to amend section four of an Act entitled N¤¤‘h 9· 1906- "An Act relating to the Metropolitan police of the District of Columbia," approved ____E"°;*_72;_ February twenty-eighth, nineteen hundred and one. [Public, Nc. 44.1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of R6£7'€8€%bdtl•?,'€8 of the United · States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act of Congress ns¤-ia of cummapproved March first, nineteen hundred and tive, entitled "An Act "‘§<nndnnnnnnnn,_ to amend section four of an Act entitled ‘An Act relating to the Pnnnnn, nn,nnd,,d_ Metropolitan police of the District of Columbia} " is hereby amended {jglgj- rg- yn by extending its provisions in behalf of the chief engineer of the tire department, and all other officers of said department of and above the rank of captain, to any chief engineer of the fire department and all other officers of said department of and above the rank of foreman, who were retired and nsioned in pursuance of law prior to the ap- _ proval of said Act: Igfbvided, That when retired the present chief cm, mg, engineer of the fire department of the District of Columbia shall nw_ receive as 1'BtlI'Bd pay a sum equal to one-half of the salary allowed by law at date of retirement.
