PROCLAMATION S, 1910. 2715 Forest certain lands within the States of Idaho and Wyoming, and giving by proclamation of this date the name of Palisade National ·"'“· P·2"1*~ orest to a portion of the area included in the Targhee National Forest by the aforesaid Executive Order; ` Now, therefore, I, William H. Taft, President of the United States Boundariesmodiued of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Con- V°l‘°’°’p‘3°‘ grem atxproved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, entitled “Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other dpurposes," do proclaim that on and after July first, nineteen hundre and ten, the boundaries of the Targhee National Forest shall be as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. This proclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of any lands heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act » of Congress approved une eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An Act o provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves/’ ` A pgrtion of the land eliminated in accordance with this proclama- E¤¤¤i¤¤¤<>¤¤- tion m the Targhee National Forest on July first, nineteen hundred and ten, is shown on the diagram forming a art hereof; the remainder is shown on the diagram forming a part o¥ the proclamation for the A”“•P·27i2· Palisade National Forest of this date. Such of said eliminated lands Igasgdgcmagcw W as are not embraced in withdrawals for administrative sites for use pu ' in the management of the Targhee and Palisade National Forests, or in any other reservation or appropriation, shall be restored to the public domain and become subject to settlement under the general rovisions of the homestead laws on such date and after such notice E apublication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but slir not become subject to entry, filingiulselection, or other form of appropriation until the expiration of t ty days from the date so _ fixed, except that on the same date as the lands eliminated become Indemnity sermon subject to settlement, the States of Idaho and Wyoming may, if the "“°°°‘°°"°°’· lands eliminated are subject to such selection, select as indemnity in the satisfaction of their common school grants, not to exceed two · sections of land in each entire township restored, or one section in each fractional portion of a township where the restored area thereof exceeds five thousand (5,000) acres, and no person will be permitted to acquire or exercise any rivht whatever under any sett ement or occupancy begun prior to such date, and all such settlement or occupation is hereby forbidden. · It is not intended by this proclamation to release an land from uaauwm reservation except the areas indicated as eliminated on the aforesaid diagrams forming arts of the proclamations of this date for the Targhee and Palisade llzlational Forests, nor to reserve any land not here- ·‘·””»1* mi tofore embraced in a National Forest.
