WHEREAS, by joint resolution "to provide for annexing the §.*,‘;‘;‘,n*‘},§‘;»H“““- Hawaiian Islands to the United States/’ approved July 7, 1898, the V¤1- 30. PY 750- cessron by the Government of the Republic of Hawaii to the United States of America, of all rights of sovereignty of whatsoever kind in and over the Hawaiian Islands and their dependencies, and the transfer to the United States of the absolute fee and ownership of all public, government or crown lands, public buildings, or edifices ports, arbors, military equipment, and al other public property of every kind and description elonging to the government of the Hawaiian Islands, was d y acceplte , ratified, and confirmed, and the said Hawaiian Islands and their dependencies annexed as a part of the territory of the United States, and made subject to the sovereign dominion thereof, and all and singular the property and rights hereinbefore mentioned vested in the [nited States of America. AND WHEREAS, it was further provided in said resolution that the existing laws of the United States relative to public lands shall not ppply to such lands in the Hawaiian Islands, but the Congress of the nited States shall enact special laws for their management and disposition; ND WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has provided "°L °‘· P- W- by the Act of April 30, 1900, chapter 339, section 91, that the public progerty ceded and transferred to the United States by the Republic of awaii under the said resolution may be taken for the uses and puws of the United States by direction of the President; WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary in thrhpublic interests that a certain piece and parcel of land situated at onolulu, on the Island of Oahu, in the Territory and District of Hawaii, in the United States of America, be immediatez reserved for lgghthouse purposes; H gi?} r¤¤•rv¤<1 rw NOW THEREFORE, I, WOO ROW WILSO , President of the g "s° °°"°°°°s' United States, by virtue of the authority! in me vested, do hereby declare, proclaim and make known that the said piece and rparcel of land situated at Honolulu, on the Island of Oahu, in the errito and District of Hawaii, be and the same is hereby, subject to suiih legislative action as the Congress of the United States may take with res act thereto, reserved for lighthouse purposes, to wit: Hieginnin at a point bearing 136° 36' 46" true and distant 111.23 ft. "°‘°'*P"°“· from Fort Street Survey Monument, said monument being acopper bolt set in a 4" cast iron ipe and located 72° 50' ¢15" true and distant 6091.77 ft. from Punch Eowl Trianglation Station, thence by true azimut-hs and distances; 1. 138° 25’ O", 16.0 feet to a point, thence 2. 228° 25' O", 16.0 feet to a point, thence 3. 318° 25’ O", 16.0 feet to a point, thence _ _ 4. 48° 25' O", 16.0 feet to the point of beginning.
