Hopkins the sum`of $5,000 for damages suffered by the death of her husband, John P. Hopkins, who was struck and fatally injured by a beef bone negligently thrown from the kitchen of a troop train by a United States soldier, who was then and there in the service of the United States and who was then and there regularly enlisted as a soldier of the United States Army and oilicially performing duty on such train. [HR-*280-l ,_ CHAP. 182.—An Act For the relief of the Chamber of Commerce of the [P'“'”‘°· N°- 139-] city of Northampton, Massachusetts. _ _ Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the §§‘§,§fg‘§§“p‘g}“· $2,*;; United States of America in Ocngress assembled, That the Secremggghbmemm to tary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to A pay, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Northampton, Massachusetts, the sum of $4,500, to reimburse the said chamber of commerce for money advanced by it for the purchase of a certain tract of land now a part of the site of the Veterans’ Hospital of the United States in the city of Northampton, Massachusetts, the said tract not having been included in the terms of the offer of the said chamber of commerce to the Director of the United States Veterans’ Bureau to provide a site for said hospital, which oHer was duly accepted by the said Director of the United States Veterans’ Bureau on behalf of the Government of the United States.
