Medical charities. For care and treatment of indigent patients under contracts to be Care,etc., of indigent patients at designated made by the Board of Public Welfare with the following institutions hospitals. and for not to exceed the following amounts, respectively Children's Hospital, $22,000 . Central Dispensary and Emergency Hospital, $25,000. Eastern Dispensary and Casualty Hospital, $15,000 . Washington Home for Incurables, $10,000 . COLUMBIA HOSPITAL AND LYING-IN ASYLUM Salaries : For personal services, $71,500. For provisions, fuel, forage, harness, and vehicles, and repairs to same, gas , ice, sh oes, clot hing, dry goods, t ailoring, drugs an d medical supplie s, fur niture and b edding , kitc hen ute nsils, books and p eriod- icals not to exceed $50, temporary services not to exceed $1,000, main- tenance of motor truck, and other necessary items, $59,000 . For repairs and improvements to buildings and grounds, including roads and sidewalks, $9,500. For the study and preparation of plans for a sanatorium for the care, treatment, and education of tubercular children, $1,500, to be immediately available, and the Com missioners of the Dis- trict of Columbia shall submit such plan s with recommendations to the first session of the Seventy-first Congress . GALLINGER MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL Salaries : For personal services, $294,000 . For maintenance, maintenance of horses and horse-drawn vehicles, books of reference and periodicals, not to exceed $50, maintenance of nonp asse nger -car ryin g m otor veh icle s, a nd all othe r ne cess ary expenses, $209,000 . For repairs to buildings, $6,000 . Purchase of books, musical instruments and music, expense of comm encem ent e xerci ses, ente rtain ment s, an d oth er i ncide ntal ex- penses of the training school for nurses, $600 . For an additional amount for completing the construction of the domestic service and ward buildings at Gallinger Municipal Hos- pital, s ubject to the limi tations p rescribe d in the District of Columb ia Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1927 ; for purchase and instal- lation of new b oiler and accessor ies ; and f or sew er and water conne c- tions, roads, walks, and improvement of grounds, $49,000 . For construction and equipment of a nurses' home with capacity for one hundred and fifty nurses, including proper offices, recreation rooms, library, and teaching accommodations, $150,000, and the com- missioners are authorized to enter into contract or contracts for such building at a total cost not to exceed $325,000 . 54335 1 -29-PT 1-85 Columbia Hospital . For general repairs and for additional construction, including Repairs, etc . labor and material, and for expenses of heat, light, and power re- quired in and about the operation of the hospital, to be expended in the discretion and under the direction of the Architect of the Capitol, $15,000 .
