CHAP. 426 .-An Act Validating certain conveyances heretofore made by [H. R. 14457.]

Central Pacific Railway Company, a corporation, and its lessee, Southern Pacific [Public, No . 877 .1 Company, a cor poration, involving certain portions of right of way, in and in the vicinity of the city of Lodi, and near the station of Acampo, all in the county of San Joaquin, State of California, acquired by Central Pacific Railway Company under the Act of Congress approved J uly 1, 1862 (volume 12, United States Statutes at Large, page 489), as amended by the Act of Congress approved July 2, 1864 (volume 13, United States Statutes at Large, page 356) . Be it enacted by, the Senate and House of Representatives of the Centra l Pacif ic Rai l- United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the convey- way land grant . Conveyancesfrom,in ances hereinafter particularly described and heretofore executed by SCalif., legalized . Cou nty, Central Pacific Railway Company, a corporation, and its lessee, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, involving certain lands or interests therein, in and in the vicinity of the city of Lodi, and near the stati on of Acampo, all in the co unty of San J oaquin, State of California, and forming a part of the right of way of said Central Pacific Railway Company, granted by the Government of the United Vol.12,p.489 . States of America by an Act of Congress approved July 1, 18 62, entitled "An Act to aid in the construction of a railroad and tele- graph line from the Missouri River to the Pacific Ocean, and to secure to the Government the use of the same for postal, military, and other purposes" (volume 12, United States Statutes at Large, page Vol . 13, P. 856. 489), and by said Act as amended by Ac t of Congress approved July 2, 1864, entitled "An A ct to amend a n Act entitle d `An Act to a id in the construction of a railroad and telegraph line from the Mis- souri River to the Pacific Ocean, and to secure to the Government the use of the same for postal, military, and other purposes,' approved July 1, 1862 " (volume 13, United States Statutes at Large, page 356), are hereby legalized, validated, and confirmed with the same force and effect as if the land involved therein had been held at the time of such conveyances by the corporations making the same under absolute fee simple title .
