[Public, No . 533.] of Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns , to construct, main tain, and operate a bridge across the Mi ssissippi River, at or near Tenth Street in Bettendorf, State of Iowa . Be it enacted b y the Senate and House of Representatives o f the Mississippi River . United States o f America in Congress assembled, That, in order B.F . Peek, etc., may to fa cilitate inte rstate commerc e, improve th e postal serv ice and bridge, at Bettendorf, provide for military and other purposes, B . F . Peek, G. A . Shallberg, and C . I . Josephson, of Moline, Illinois ; J. W . Bettendorf, A . J . Russell, and J. L. Hecht, of Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, be, and they are hereby, authorized to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and ap- proaches thereto across the Mississippi River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near Tenth Street in Bettendorf, State of Iowa, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled Construction. "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable Post3p .151 12 2, waters," approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act . SEC . 2 . There is hereby conferred upon B . F . Peek, G. A. Shall- Right to acquire real estate,ete .,forlocation, berg, and C . I . Josephson, of Moline, Illinois ; J . W. Bettendorf, approaches, etc . j A . J. Russell, and J. L . Hecht, of Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, all such rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess, and use real estate and other property needed for the location, con- struction, operation, and maintenance of such bridge and its ap- proaches as are possessed by railroad corporations for railroad pur- poses or by bridge corporations for bridge purposes in the State in which such real es tate or other property is s ituated, upon making ust compensation therefor, to be ascertained and paid according to the l aws of such S tate, and the proceedings t herefor shall be the c eed ing s .~ation pro same as in the condemnation or expropriation of property for public purposes in such State .
