QU ARTERMA STER COR PS Subsistence of the Army : Purchase of subsistence supplies for issue as rations to troops, and so forth, including the same objects spe cified under this head in the War Depart ment Appropri ation Act for the fiscal year 1928, $4,535,893 . Arm y tran sporta tion : Credit is au thorized and directed in th e accounts of disbursing officers of the War Department for the payment of obligations heretofore or hereafter incurred for expert s ervi ces unde r ex isti ng c ontr act ente red into by the War Depa rtme nt in connection with the construction of the ferryboat authorized by the Second Deficiency Act, fiscal year 1926. The Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Navy, through a joint board composed of officers appointed by them, shall make a survey of the points of storage of supplies of ammunition and com- ponents thereof for use of the Army and Navy, with special reference to the location of such ammunition and components as are in such proximity to populous communities and industrial areas as to consti- tute a menace to life and property . The results of such survey shall be embodied in a joint report which the Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Navy shall make to Congress, not later than March 15, 1928, with their recommendations as to what changes, if any, should be made in such storage facilities and their points of location and the feasibility of the joint use thereof by the Army and Navy . Such expenses of the survey as may not otherwise be chargeable to current appropriations may be defrayed in equal parts from current appropriations for " Ordnance and Ordnance Stores, Bureau of Ord- nance, Navy Department," and " Current Expenses, Ordnance S ervice , War Depart ment ."
