For the completion of the construction of high-temperature incin- erators for the destruction of combustible refuse, under and in a ccord ance with t he pr ovisi ons of the Act en title d "An Act a uthor iz- ing the acquisition of land in the District of Columbia and the con- st ruction thereon of two modern high-temperature incinerators for the destruction of combustible refuse, and for other purposes," approved March 4, 1929 (45 Stat. p . 1549), $300,000 . PUBLIC PLAYGROUNDS For personal services, $115,940 : Provided, That employments here- under, except directors who shall be employed for twelve months, s hall be di stribu ted a s to durati on in accor dance with corre spond ing employments provided for in the District of Columbia Appropria- tion Act for the fiscal year 1924. For gene ral ma inten ance, equip ment, suppl ies, incide ntal and c on- tingent expenses of playgrounds, including labor and maintenance of one motor truck, $38,000 ; for construction of physical improve- ments by day labor or otherwise in the discretion of the commis- sioners, $25,000 ; in all, $63,000. For the maintenance and contingent expenses of keeping open dur- ing the summer months the public-school playgrounds, under the direction and supervision of the commissioners ; for special and tem- porary services, directors, assistants, and janitor service during the summer vacation, and, in the larger yards, daily after school hours during the school term, $30,000 . For supplies, repairs, maintenance, and necessary expenses of oper- ating three swimming pools, $3,000 . Bathing pools : For superintendence, $600 ; for temporary services, supplies, and maintenance, $4,500 ; for repairs to buildings, pools, and upkeep of grounds, $1,780 ; in all, $6,880 : Provided, That section 6 of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Appropriation Act . approved May 10, 1916 (39 Stat ., p. 120, sec . 6), as amended, shall not apply to the position of superintendent of these bathing pools during the fiscal year 1932. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT For personal services, $153,120, of which amount $2,400 shall be immediately available . For gene ral su pplie s, rep airs, new batter ies a nd bat tery suppl ies, telephone rental and purchase, telephone service charges, wire and cable for extension of telegraph and telephone service, repairs of lines and instruments, purchase of poles, tools, insulators, brackets, pi ns, hardware, cross arms, ice, record book, stationery, livery, blacksmithing, extra labor, new boxes, maintenance of motor trucks, and other necessary items, $32,200, of which $10,000 shall be immedi- a tely availa ble . For placing wires of fire alarm, police patrol, and telephone serv- ices underground, extension and relocation of police-patrol and fire- alarm systems, purchase and installing additional lead-covered cables, labor, material, appurtenances, and other necessary equip- me nt and expenses, including not to exceed $8 ,800, for re placement of obsolete engine house fire alarm recording registers and take-up reels by new-type registers and reels, $44,225, of which $9,225 shall be immediately available . Lighting : For purchase, installation, and maintenance of public lamps, lamp-posts, street designations, lanterns, and fixtures of all kinds on streets, avenues, roads, alleys, and public spaces, part cost of maintenance of airport and airway lights necessary for
