Secretary of the Interior, including personal services in the District of Columbia and elsewhere; the computation and adjustment of con- trol data; the office drafting and publication of the resulting maps; the purchase of equipment, and for the securing of such aerial photo- graphs as are needed to make the field surveys, $75,000, to be immedi- ately ava ilable; For geolo gic su rveys in the vario us por tions of the United State s Geologic surveys . and chemical and physical researches relative thereto, $400,000, of which not to exceed $300,000 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia; For fundamental research in geologic science, $100,000;
