Coast and Geodetic Survey . For every expenditure requisite for and incident to the work of Expenses . the Coast and Geodetic Survey, i ncluding maintenanc e, repair, excha nge, and operatio n of motor-prope lled or horse-dra wn vehicles fo r off icial use i n fie ld wo rk, pu rchas e of motorc ycles with side cars, including their exchange, not to exceed $500, surveying instruments, including their exchange, rubber boots, canvas and rubber gloves, goggles, and caps, coats, and aprons for stewards' departments on vessels, extra compensation at not to exceed $1 per day for each station to employees of the Lighthouse Service and the Weather Bureau while observing tides or currents, services of one tide observer in the District of Columbia at not to exceed $1 per day, and compensation, not otherwise appropriated for, of persons em- ployed in the field work, for travel and other expenses incident to the exe cuti on of fie ld wor k u pon ap pro val by the he ad of the Bureau, and for expenses (in an amount not to exceed $150) of attendance at meetings concerned with the work of the Coast . Coast Pilot : For compilation of the Coast Pilot, including the Coast Pilot . employment of such pilots and nautical experts, and stenographic help in the field and office as may be necessary for the same, $5,200 .
