Cereal crops and diseases : For the investigation and improvement of cereals, including corn, and methods of cereal production and for the study and control of cereal diseases, and for the investigation of the cultivation and breeding of flax for seed purposes, including a study of flax diseases, and for the investigation and improvement of broomcorn and methods of broomcorn production, $520,721 . Cotton and other fiber crops and diseases : For investigation of the production of cotton and other fiber crops, including the im- provement by cultural methods, breeding, and selection, fiber yield and quality, and the control of diseases, $406,435, of which sum not exceeding $15,000 shall be used for experimenting in Sea Island co tton, includi ng its hybri dizati on wit h other varie ties . Drug and related plants : For the investigation, testing, and improvement of plants yielding drugs, spices, poisons, oils, and related products and byproducts, $47,139 . Forest pathology : For the investigation of diseases of forest and ornamental trees and shrubs, including a study of the nature and habits of the parasitic fungi causing the chestnut-tree bark disease, the white-pine blister rust, and other epidemic tree diseases, for the purpose of disc overing new met hods of control and applying methods of eradication'or control already discovered, and including $127,357 for investigations of diseases of forest trees and forest products, under section 3 of the Act approved May 22, 1928 (U .
