EDUC ATIO N For the support of Indian schools not otherwise provided for, and other educational and industrial purposes in connection therewith, in cluding ed ucational facilities authorized by treaty provision s, care of children of school age attending private schools, and tuition for Indian pupils attending public schools, $5,379,820 : Provided, That not to exceed $15,000 of this appropriation may be used for the support and education of deaf and dumb or blind, physically handi- capped, or mentally deficient Indian children : Provided further, That $4,500 of this appropriation may be used for the education and civilization of the Alabama and Coushatta Indians in Texas

vided further, That $45,000 of this appropriation shall be available for subsistence of pupils in reservation and nonreservation boarding schools during summer months : Provided further, That not more than $15,000 of the amount herein appropriated may be expended for the tuition (which may be paid in advance) of * Indian pupils attending vocational or higher educational institutions, under such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe,
