Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That for carrying out the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to authorize the attendance of the Marine Ban d at the United Conf ederate Veterans' 19 37 Reunion at Jackson, Mississippi, June 9, 10, 11, and 12, 1937", approved May 24, 1937, there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treas ury no t othe rwise appropr iated, the s um of $5,300 . [CHAPTER 3051 AN ACT To extend the times for commencing and completing the construction of a bridge and causewa y across the wat er between the m ainland, at or n ear Cedar Point, and Dauphin Island, Alabama . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the times for commencing and completing the construction of a bridge and causeway between the mainland, at or near Cedar Point, and Dauphin Island, Alabama, heretofore authorized to be built by Daup hin Isl and Rail way and Har bor Comp any, its su cces sors and assigns (Mobile C ounty, Alabama, and Highway Bridge Commi s- sion, Inco rpora ted, an A labam a co rpora tion, tran sfer ees), as l ast extended by Public Law Numbered 427, Seventy-fourth Congress, approved January 27, 1936, are hereby extended one and three years, respectively, from the date of approval of this Act : Provided, That it shall not be lawful to commence the construction of said bridge until plans thereof shall again be submitted to and approved by the Chief of Engineers and by the Secretary of War. SEC . 2. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby express ly res erved . Approved, June 9, 1937 . [CHAPTER 306] AN ACT Authorizing the State Roads Comm ission of the St ate of Maryland and the State Highway Department of the State of Virginia to construct, maintain, and oper- ate a free highway bridge across the Potomac River at or near a point in the vicinity of Point of Rocks in Frederick County and a point near the south end of Loudoun County to take t he place of a br idge destroyed b y flood in 19 3 6 . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in order to facilit ate in tersta te com merce, impro ve the Postal Servi ce, an d pro- vide for military and other purposes, the State Roads Commission of the State of Maryland and the State Highway Department of the State o f Virg inia b e, and are h ereby, author ized t o cons truct, main- tain, and operate a free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Potomac River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near a point in the vicinity of Point of Rocks in Frederick County, Maryland, an d a point near the so uth end of Loudoun County, Virginia, in accordan ce with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navi- gable waters", approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act .
