FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION For s even c ommiss ioners , and for al l other autho rized expend itures of the Federal Communications Commission in performing the duties imposed by the Communications Act of 1934, approved June 19, 1934 (48 Stat., p . 1064), the Ship Act of 1910, approved June 24, 1910, as amended (U . S . C ., title 46, sets . 481 1 87), the International Radio- telegraphic Convention (45 Stat ., pt . 2, p . 2760), Executive Order Numbered 3513, dated July 9, 1921, as amended under date of June 30, 1934, re lating to applicat ions for submarine cable li censes, a nd the radiotelegraphy provisions of the Convention for Promoting Safety of Life at Sea , rati fied b y the Presid ent of the Un ited S tates, July 7, 1936, including personal services, contract stenographic reporting services, rental of quarters, newspapers, periodicals, reference books, law books, special counsel fees, supplies and equipment, including purchase and exchange of instruments, which may be purchased with- out regard to section 3709 of the Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 41, sec . 5) when the aggregate amount involved does not exceed $25, improvement and care of grounds and repairs to buildings not to exceed $5,000, traveling expenses, including expenses of attendance at me etings which in th e disc retion of th e Commi ssion are ne cessar y for th e effi cient discha rge of its r espons ibiliti es, an d othe r nece ssary expenses, $1,604,000, of which amount not to exceed $1,050,000 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia .
