Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the M iltary ApproPri- united States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not other- wise appropriated, for the Military Establishment for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1939, and for other purposes, namely: War Department. SALARIES, WAR DEPARTMENT Personal services, For compensation for personal services in the District of Columbia, D. C. as follows: office of secretary Office of Secretary of War: Secretary of War, Assistant Secretary ofWar. of War, and other personal services, $280,200: Provided, That no use of field-srvice field-service appropriation shall be available for personal services in appropriations re- stricted. the War Department except as may be expressly authorized herein.
