AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOV- ERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND, THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUB- LIC OF PERU In conformity with the request of the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru in Washington to the Secretary of State of the United States of America, the President of the United States of America has authorized the appointment of an officer of the United States Army to serve in the Republic of Peru under the conditions specified below. TITLE I Duties and Duration ARTICLE 1-The Government of the United States of America shall place at the disposal of the Government of Peru the technical and professional services of an officer of the United States Army to serve as Adviser to the Re- mount Service of the Peruvian Army. ARTICLE 2-The officer detailed to this duty by the Government of the United States of America shall be Colonel Thomas J. John- son, United States Army, or another officer of similar quali- fications in replacement if neces- sary as may mutually be agreed upon by the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Peru. ACUERDO ENTRE EL GOBIERNO DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMERICA Y EL GOBIERNO DE LA REPUBLICA DEL PERU De conformidad con la solicitud de Su Excelencia el Embajador de la Repdblica del Peril en Wash- ington al Secretario de Estado de los Estados Unidos de America, el Presidente de los Estados Uni- dos de America ha autorizado el nombramiento de un oficial del Ej6rcito de los Estados Unidos para servir en la Repiblica del Perd, de acuerdo con las condicio- nes estipuladas a continuaci6n. TITULO I Servicios y Duraci6n ARTfCULO 1-El Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America pondra a la disposici6n del Go- bierno del Perd los servicios tecni- cos y profesionales de un oficial del Ej6rcito de los Estados Unidos para servir como Asesor del Servi- cio de Remonta del Ejercito Pe- ruano. ARTfCULO 2-El oficial que el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America ha de designar para este servicio serf el Coronel Thomas J. Johnson, del Ejrcito de los Estados Unidos, u otro oficial igualmente id6neo en su reemplazo si es necesario, segun se disponga por mftuo acuerdo entre el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America y el Gobierno del Perd.
